...that i love, love, love to wile (sp?!?) the day away reading a book
...that i enjoy watching my belly (child o' the womb is a MOVER and i can actually see her rolling over etc. crazy stuff)
...that i enjoy winter because i get to wear sweaters
...that i think my husband's job is entertaining and that i'm thinking of writing a television pilot based on his experiences. it would be same basic premise of The Office, only it would be The Jobsite. same mocumentary style, though
...that i enjoyed the movie Bride Wars.
...that i don't get 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day unless i'm on weight watchers
...that i'm not super sure of the savior abilities of our new president. i'm not saying he's not capable, i'm just saying let's see what he can do before we get all kinds of excited, or before we criticize, let's be fair.

Thanks for the advice for the Primary class! I feel a little more secure now, I realize I must sound a bit ridiculous to those of you who love the children, but man... they are just NOT my forte.
Here is a vid of the little one. He's started to "walk" while only holding one hand, this is a feat indeed! If you are wondering what's in his right hand, it's a pen. We had to "trick" him into thinking Dad was still holding on with both hands.

it is the middle of january already. where hath the time gone?
i taught my first primary class on sunday. 5 and 6 year olds--hmmm. i realized two things.
it still only takes one kid to decide he wants to take over the class to ruin everything (that much is not different from teaching 12-15 yr olds).
and, 5 yr olds have a very SHORT attention span. very short. my problem is, what does one do with these tots? this week i've been racking my brains for age/day appropriate activities since i think it's much better for them to "do" than "discuss". i am drawing a blank however. so, if you are a successful primary teacher or taught el ed i would L-O-V-E your ideas/suggestions. of course, that would require someone to actually comment in the comment section...do what you need to do.
another exciting happ for sunday. H. went to nursery for the first time. Yippee!! he did quite well and never knew his father had left the room. he just scooted (yes, he still scoots. no, i don't want to hear your suggestions on how to get him to walk--i feel i've heard them all) around and played with toys and ate snacks, and "sang" songs. good day for the Hayden child, i must say.
i think i'm getting grumpier with each passing day. it might be the january blues (i get them every year). i might be the pregnancy (i want my body back). but it is something i resolute (yes, i do know the word should be "resolve" but i think that resolute is much more fun to say/type) to overcome. a new year's resolution for me is to be more positive. i used to be a fairly positive individual and i think i'd like to go back there. it's a MUCH better place to be...i'll let you know how i do.
with that i bid you adieu (is the spelling right on that, Al? Scott? Amy? or is that not even a french word?-- i REALLY need to go back to school).

I love Christmas!!!Here are some photos of Christmas (such as they are-- I could never be a class historian) and B's friend's son's 2nd birthday party.
What's that you say? Is Hayden riding a pony at this birthday party? Oh yes. Your eyes do not deceive you... it's a pony, and a petting zoo, and a small "farm" set up inside, and THOUSANDS of dollars spent on a two year old. But who's judging? I mean, counting?
** I should add that even though I may think it is weird to spend such a wild amount on a two year old's birthday party said two year old had a blast and H loved the petting zoo as well. **
