i asked scout if she needed to go potty on the potty and she hopped up (from having her diaper changed) and ran to the bathroom. she then dragged the stool over and stood on it in front of the toilet. she stood and stood and stood until finally she went...all over the stool and floor.
--i guess this is what happens when the older child whom she watches and emulates is the opposite gender.

because cuteness must be preserved
here i am again, reporting on the ridiculous adorable-ness of my children. it's hard to be the parent of such cute kids, but i take it all in stride. following are just a couple examples of their undeniable ability to surprise me and make me laugh.
Mom: Scout, we're going to go to mommy's exercise place and you can play with all the toys, ok?
Scout: Oh goody, goody!
Scout (after trying to turn a door knob): Oh, no! It's locked. What should we do? I know! Keys! (please note it was not quite this clear, but this IS what she said).
Hayden: Look a gondola! (pointing to a kayak he's seeing on tv--unsure of how he knows what a gondola is, I can only assume he was referring to the boat driver people in Venice...though aren't they called gondoliers?)*
Hayden: *click* Now that's what I call a swell picture!
Hayden: No, Dad, my cape isn't a superhero cape. It's just a cape with an "H" on it.
* Just found out where the knowledge of a gondola came from: a Little Einsteins dvd where the characters go to Venice and the gondolas on the show actually look rather similar to the kayaks he was seeing. Funny thing is we got this dvd from the library 3 or 4 months ago. H. has a crazy-daisy memory.
