went to the doctor yesterday to see if there is a reason i'm so ridiculously exhausted ALL the time. she took some blood, i've yet to hear back.
we did have this conversation however,
doc: Your BMI is 24. 25 is considered overweight.
me: shocked silence. what is this 5'3" 92 lb. person trying to say?
doc: I don't know if you've lost all your baby weight, yet...
me: Um, I still have 8-10 lbs to go.
doc: Well, you just might want to keep an eye on this because it can tend to creep up slowly.
me: seriously? are you really almost calling me "fat"?
doc: You don't look bad, though.
me: Um, thanks.
i wish every person had to struggle with weight and food issues just so they wouldn't say stupid things like that. i then went home and relayed the conversation to my husband (who also has never struggled with a weight problem). i did give him fair warning that the inappropriate response would be to agree with the doctor. he was a good husband and was on my side... kiss kiss, brent.
