on my mind.
* the saying "kicking ass and taking names". what is that about? why are you taking names? are you taking the names of those whose derrieres you so unthoughtfully kicked and if so, why? are you going to take a poll on how satisfied they are with said beating--what you could improve, perhaps? OR are you taking names of those who liked your work and would also like to receive a kicking in the back of their behind? just wondering.
* and while we're on sayings--what about "that's nothing to shake a stick at". oh. okay. because i was seriously thinking about finding a stick to shake at it...
* i used to be a gal of confidence (mostly, anyway) but since having kids all of that has gone out the window. i now question everything i say and do, no matter what the situation. i leave social outings replaying what was said and wondering if everyone else thinks i'm the dork i sound like in my replays.
* woke up to a spider crawling on me last night. blech.
* wish the pregnancy pounds would come off faster. i'm not so fond of the "mommy" body i've created through carrying children for 9 months at a time. i never used to have a belly. hips and thighs, yes, a belly no. now i have all three (oh, and a butt. i try to forget about that part of my anatomy, though, and am grateful it's behind me--wah wah).

returned to the gym today. saw some funny things, such as:
* A guy lifting weights and wearing a wool beanie. You've seen them, the kind you wear in the middle of winter. Was he trying to sweat weight off his head?
* A woman stopping every 30 seconds (literally) to text on her phone. I'm sure she got a really good workout though.
***********************
Scout has taken to smiling on occasion and doing that fun baby talk. aaah. Pics to come soon, I'm sure.
H. is forever expanding his list o' words with additions such as "onion", "grasshopper", "wolf", "otter" and such. You know, the useful words in our everyday lives. He actually has a pretty large vocabulary they just aren't the valuable words other kids pick up like "down" or "drink" (though he does say this in sign) or "help me". But that's Hayden for you, never doing anything the normal way. In fact the other day I swear I heard him say "good grief". Funny kid.

Pretty Much, I'm addicted
I am. I'm addicted to a variety of things. Really. Among them are:
* Sleep- I love sleep. There isn't anything better than a good nap. I'm not talking one of these lame "power" naps of 20 minutes or so. I'm talking something good and solid, like 3 hours. Now THAT'S a nap.
*Caffeine- Because I don't get much of the above I am, consequently, also addicted to caffeine. It is the only thing that keeps me going. My family--the one I grew up in--would be disappointed, I'm sure. They're not soda drinkers, let alone caffeine drinkers. But at least I fit in a little better with the in-laws. GOOO Beverage Service (that's what you call it, right?)
*Chocolate- For obvious reasons do I love this food. Who doesn't? Oh, that's right, my vanilla-loving brother is not overly fond of this decadent treat. I used to say,"I like my men like I like my milk--Chocolate." I suppose this is why I married Brent. He's pretty much the brownest guy I know. Oh, wait...
*The Deadliest Catch- I've found a new show to obsess over. It revolves around crab fishermen on the Bering Sea in Alaska. I know, right? You wanna' watch now, too. Go ahead. It's on the Discovery Channel on Tuesday nights. If you want to "catch up" on past seasons they're having a Deadliest Catch marathon on Mother's Day. Perfect use for you TiVo/DVR.
*Reading- What can I say? Love it. Not much more to add to that. --I'm kind of a book snob. But not as bad as my sister.
*My Space- Before you judge, I'm not talking about the website. I'm literally talking about my space. I am an introvert. People, at least large crowds of them, suck my energy. I have to have my own space to retreat to so that I may regroup and rejuvenate. Perfect example. The other day B gave me some $$ to go shopping and his Madre was going to watch the kids. However, after several nights without much sleep and a day around a crowd--I just needed to be in my own space and relax. Shopping was so unappealing at that point. MUST have my space. MUST.
*Procrastinating- because, really, why do today what I can put off until I'm just so embarrassed it hasn't been done that I do it out of guilt or sense of duty OR I ignore it altogether, because it can't be that big of deal, can it?
*The Pitter-Patter of Little Feet- Sounds dumb to you? Get some of your own little feet and have them pitter patter around your house--they have to belong to you, though, because other people's little feet are generally not so endearing. Nothing can lift the spirits like coming home and hearing those on the other side of the door.
