For whatever reason my children love white noise. On the top is Scout being soothed by the vacuum (sorry for the not-so-great quality of the vid--I was rushing) and on the bottom is Hayden, at about the same age enjoying the same thing. It worked so well with Hayden I once recorded 30 minutes of the vacuum running and took it with us in a small portable tape player to calm him when we were in restaurants or just out and about.-- I breed 'em a little on the odd side, what can I say?

ah, Hayden. you know, i love this kid with all that is in me...but lately, i dunno, it's like he's entering the terrible twos or something. he screams when he goes down for a nap--literally screams. today it wasn't so bad he only screamed for 45 minutes. he screams when he goes to bed for the night, for at least an hour. he wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. he screams when i wash his hair and he screams when i put him into the tub all the while clamoring to get out as if the water is burning him. this is all new behavior. none of these daily events were ever such drama producing moments before.--before the baby came home.
with the baby he does pretty well. giving her kisses and such. sometimes, however, he "pats" her head just a little too hard or tries to poke her in the eye. i'm assuming these are all fairly normal older sibling behaviors. but the screaming, good grief, i could do without that. i could also do without him constantly testing his limits at every turn--but i think that's fairly normal behavior for his age as well.
any advice on how to get him to sleep again? both B and i are at our wits end and required to be hooked to an iv of caffeine in order to function. i'm so blasted tired i can taste it and this doesn't help my patience level.
who's idea was this again? oh right, probably mine. God really does have a sense of humor. first primary now this. ha ha.
