Wellness Challenge

Yesterday I started  a Wellness Challenge after my sister in law, Megan, told me I'd be dead to her if I didn't do it. In this challenge you get one point for doing 10 different things throughout the day. At the end of the week you tally up your points and report them and by the end of three months whomever has the most point wins 80% of the pot (every participant puts in $10), the 2nd place winner gets 15%, and the 3rd place winner gets 5%.  I'm doing this for a variety of reasons: 1) I need to be more healthy 2) I liked that this challenge includes physical, spiritual and mental wellness 3) I'd like to make a lifestyle change 4) I want to be a good example to my children of healthy eating, moving, and living. So there you have it, my latest bit o' nuttiness.

PS: If you're wondering about Race for the Cure. Did it. Didn't so much race, but I completed it and am still working on the RUNNING part (doing pretty well, I might add).

PPS: Megan never said anything about being dead to her. I just put that in for dramatic effect ( or is it affect? why can't I ever remember which is which?!?)

PPPS: If you're interested in following my progress for this little challenge feel free to do so here.

glad to hear race for the cure went well. by the way, not all 5k's are that expensive. i saw how much they charged you, and i think that's extortion. if a race is more than $20, i won't run it.

may i suggest you run something on july 4th? those races are always fun. and there's about 4 billion of them around the valley that day.

It's true. I didn't say it, but loved the dramatic effect. And so glad you are doing this with me, btw. It's nice to have some local moral support and someone else at family gatherings who is NOT partaking of the, oh so delicious, treats. One of these days, I'll do some sort of race to support you! But not the 4th, I've got plans.

I have been sneaking a peek at your blog. I hope you don't mind. I found it through Annie Larsen's....love that girl.

How are you? I love reading how things are going in your life. You are great. I want to join this wellness challenge.

Um, totally don't mind that you look at this maternally nutty blog. And I too love Annie. My cousin was CRAZY lucky to find such a gem. Um, Contact the chick on this page http://youcanbethebestyou.blogspot.com/p/blog.html
(her email address is there) about the wellness challenge. It started on the 17th BUT if she's not letting more people do it stay tuned because I've thought about doing/hosting one myself when I'm finished with this one.
Glad to hear from you!
