Sometimes I need a kick in the pants...

on occasion i find myself in need of a little extra push to get things movin' along. my baby fat weight loss has not been going as quickly as i would like and i blame the fact that i love, and tend to overindulge in, junk food. with this in mind i wrote up a little contract between myself and B. here is what it said:

"Julia promises to not consume any of the following from August 1, 2009 to August 1, 2010. The only exceptions being the days listed.

Foods NOT to be partaken of:
Chocolate
Cakes
Cookies
Candy
Chips
Fries
White bread (rolls, quick breads, biscuits etc. to be included)
anything classified as "junk food"

Days this does not apply:
Labor Day
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Birthday
Christmas
Valentine's Day
Memorial Day
Fourth of July

If this is not followed Julia will owe Brent millions of dollars. MILLIONS!!!!"

then we both signed it (B. does want it to be known that i had the idea and wrote the contract--he's afraid people will think he makes me sign contracts about losing weight). i'm posting this here for two reasons. 1) the more people who know about this the more successful i will be and 2) i realized that i didn't put down what i would receive if i accomplished this and so i'm looking for ideas. what could/should i get if i do this? someone suggested a cruise. what do you think?

So i once had a roommate that swore off sugar for an entire year and made the pact with two other cousins. The loser? He/She had to shave their head! Then they all ran a marathon at the end of the year. I don't think of that as a reward, but I thought it was funny as I ate ice cream in front of her.

running a marathon sounds more like a special kind of hell than a reward. glory, why would anyone follow up a no sugar year with that? gluttons for punishment, i suppose.

jane- i think i should get a trip to dc whether i do this or not!

You're right on the DC trip. And on the hellish marathon running. I shudder at the thought...
oh my heart! I just realized I never returned your call! What a horrible sister. Where's my phone....

Rewards are so hard for me to come up with, too. I wish you the best of luck with your goal. I have no doubt I will be starting a similar on in a couple months!

Wow, if you do this you need something big! I just got done doing a cleanse for a week and I want to die. That is one tough goal Julia! You need to let me know how you do it!
